1st Team senior midfielder Linzie Hills
The Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News have chosen their
2012 All State Teams in girls soccer with four young ladies from Wasatch
High School receiving notice.
The Tribune announced that Senior
midfielder Linzie Hills and Junior Whitney Orgill, who also plays midfield,
were selected to their 1st Team. Sharee Woodruff, a midfielder playing in her senior year was
chosen to the 2nd Team. The Deseret News also recognized Hills and Orgill as 1st Team midfielders and gave Honorable Mention to senior defender Taylor Firth. Hills and Firth represented the Wasps as team captains.
It comes as no surprise that the girls selected from Wasatch were all successful defenders. As a team, the lady Wasps only gave up two goals, three times this season in 19 games played. Six of their 12 victories were shutouts as was their lone tie, a 0-0 match.
Congratulations to all four young ladies on a great season and their well deserved individual honors.
